Wine from Abruzzo
Abruzzo is a wine-growing region with a very long-standing history. Wines from Abruzzo were mentioned even before 217 BC, when Hannibal crossed the Apennines and found superb food and wine in the valleys of Teramo to refresh his troops.
Even today, Abruzzo is still a region deeply attached to viticulture, where natural wines are consistently gaining ground and exposure. This is partly due to the lie of the land and the climate. The region is protected from freezing northern winds.
Excellent winemaking and quality living are but two of the Abruzzo region’s defining characteristics.
