Wine from Campania
Campania has strong historical links with wine and vines, dating back as far as the 12th century BC. It is one of the oldest wine regions in Italy, whose notable influences from ancient empires, including the Greeks, Romans and Byzantines, can be found in the legends surrounding the local grape varieties.
Campania is also famous for the production of Falerno (Falernum), one of Italy’s oldest wines.
Viticulture is at its best here, thanks to the sunshine, hot, dry summers, mild winters and volcanic soil (which can keep phylloxera in check).
The wines of Campania show how sunshine can find its true expression in a wine glass.
