Wine from Marche

The Marche region has a number of terroirs which are incredibly well suited to the cultivation of vines.

Thanks to the influences of the Apennines, the Adriatic and the region’s rivers, various climates coexist in Le Marche and, consequently, very different wines. The calcareous and clayey soils contribute to the characteristic terroir and vary from area to area.

Le Marche is best known as a white wine region, although it is home to some very high quality reds. In terms of volume, the main white varieties here are the ubiquitous Trebbiano and Verdicchio, which have been present in the region for over 600 years.

A word of caution, drinking wine from Le Marche can be highly addictive!
