Wine from Piedmont
Piedmont is the region with the most DOCGs in Italy, and it is impossible not to know some of its most famous and respected wines, such as Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera d’Asti.
Although Piedmont is famous for its austere, tannic and fragrant red wines made from Nebbiolo, Moscato d’Asti has recently been rediscovered. In addition to the more famous varieties, Piedmont has a wealth of indigenous vines, resulting in a great variety of wines.
