Caveau du Val D'Amour Specialities: White wine

Sylvain Jacquot runs the small winery "Caveau du val d'Amour" in Cramans, a little gem in the heart of the Jura 10 km north of Arbois.

Today the Domaine consists of about 2 ha of vines that Sylvain received from his parents, with plants ranging from 40 to 100 years old, a series of heterogeneous plots all located within a 20-km radius of home covering the Côte du Jura and Arbois appellations.

The Domaine officially came into being in 2016, after more than 30 years "private" vinifications with which Sylvain experimented until he developed a unique and distinctive personal style.

A story of dedication and sacrifice

Through sacrifices and hard work, initially working double shifts, he managed to acquire some old vineyards, abandoned because they were unsuitable for mechanization, until he arrived at the structure of today.

The vineyards, with an average age of fifty years, include the typical grape varieties of the area: Chardonnay, Savagnin, Pinot Noir and Trousseau, vinified in deep respect for nature and the terroir in the small home winery in both sous voil and pas ouillé styles. Added to these references is a fortified chardonnay in the Macvin style, typical of the region.
