Poliphemo 2018 compared to Puro Sangue is, as usual, a more concentrated, fiercely structured and 'animal' Aglianico. This is thanks to the vineyard that insists on mostly sandy soils that give the wine a rougher character without ever abandoning an underlying balance that is the true stylistic hallmark of this wine.

A hard-fought balance, made up of asperities that offset each other and revive in a dynamic and rhythmic mouthfeel like few others. A serious and austere wine that knows how to be tremendously entertaining!

Once again, however, the aromatic character of the 2018 vintage makes it an easily drinkable wine even in its young age.

From the producer

Luigi Tecce

We are in Paternopoli in the heart of the deepest Irpinia, here the Luigi Tecce winery produces some of the most astonishing taurasi around. Pure Aglianico and wines that are a unique compendium of finesse, power, balance and concentration.

Luigi is a man of many interests, passionate about art history and horse riding, he joined the company taking the heights in 1997 after the death of his father. He represents the fourth generation of winemakers to take care of the company and immediately made some important choices: the first was to abandon chemistry in agriculture to follow a cleaner, more natural path. The second was the choice to bottle the wines produced, having realised that they had an incredible heritage on their hands.

Today the company owns 5 hectares of vines, all divided into small plots with very old plants, some of which are even centuries old, at an altitude of between 500 and 600 metres.
