The Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Vieilles Vignes 2019 faithfully represents this sunny and warm vintage with an intense and deep taste. Typical floral nose with peppery accents and a very elegant smoky note. The palate reveals a harmonious and fresh palate, with a beautiful maturity, very well balanced. This wine has the audacity to remain digestible and fresh despite a fully ripe and concentrated fruit.

The vinification and ageing in cement and the selection Stanislas employed at the sorting table once again produced a wine of great finesse.

From the producer

Domaine de Villeneuve

Domaine du Villeneuve with its 9 hectares of vines is located halfway between Orange and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. At the helm of the winery is Stanislas Wallut, a meticulous and visionary winemaker who gives us through his wines a vision of Chateauneuf that is different from what we are used to.

The character of Stanislas's wines is inextricably linked to the identity of the terroir with power, structure and concentration that are the true hallmarks of the appellation, but also by an unexpected finesse, agility and ease of drinking that characterise the winemaker's style.

The 3.5 hectares in appellation Chateuneuf-du-Pape are developed on two types of soil: on one side of the road that cuts across the fields there is a sandy matrix that gives finesse and lightness to the wines, on the other side we find red and yellow clays that give power and density. Scattered throughout the property we find the "galets roulés" rounded stones typical of the area, which at night return to the plants the heat absorbed during the day, increasing the concentration of the grapes.
