Els Bassotets is a blend of White Grenache and Grey Grenache (70%), complemented with Macabeo and Parellada.

The grapes were sourced from 15 to 20-year-old, organically farmed vines grown in clay-limestone soils. After a meticulous harvest and a 5-day maceration, alcoholic fermentation took place in concrete vats using only indigenous yeasts. After that, Els Bassotets 2022 was aged for 10 months in stainless steel tanks.

The nose is a bit reticent at the beginning, but then slowly opens to notes of ripe white fruit, citrus, peaches, white flowers, evolving into hints of dry fruit, toast, baked bread and fresh yeasts. The taste is Pleasant, fruity and excitingly wild, with an uplifting character and a great acidity. Complex notes of ripe white fruit, underbush, flowers and yeasts. Long, savoury finish.

Joan Ramòn Escoda Martìnez after working as a winemaker in a large winery in Catalonia and traveling through wine France came to the conclusion that the only way to feel free was to make wine naturally. So in 1999 he started a project in his wife's village of Prenafeta near the medieval village of Montblanc, in Conca de Barberà, and in 2005 began making wines without added sulfites, a method that continues to this day. He and his friend Laureano Serres founded PVN, the first natural wine association in Spain.
