VINOCHAT is the solo project of Marie Lapierre, a historic producer and pioneer of the natural wine movement in Beaujolais, whom she founded in the 1990s with her husband Marcel Lapierre. Marie met Marcel in her early twenties during a harvest at Domaine Lapierre, fell in love and embraced the project to which she devoted herself body and soul for a lifetime.

In 2011 she decided to devote herself to an adventure of her own, thus VINOCHAT was born.

For the first few years, Marie used a vineyard leased from Jules Chauvet for the project and dedicated it exclusively to the production of Cuvée du Chat, the only reference produced by the winery. Over time, Marie decides to bring the vineyard closer to home to make it easier for her to manage, so she buys some Beaujolais Villages vineyards near her home.

Within the vineyards we find the traditional grape variety of the area: Gamay, vinified in carbonic maceration, used for the production of Cuvée du Chat, the winery's only label.
