Saulheim, Rheinhesses
Forget the clichés of German wines, because at Dexheimer, tradition is just the launching pad!
We are in Saulheim, in the pulsing heart of the dynamic Rheinhessen, where winemaking history dating back to 1896 has met the explosive vision of the fifth generation. Max and Marika are the faces of this revolution: a young, laser-focused couple who took a century-old legacy and transformed it into a manifesto of vertical Rieslings and indigenous varieties.
The goal is clear: to tell an honest, unfiltered story of the German terroir, blending absolute respect for the past with a production mindset that is anything but conventional. Here, craftsmanship merges with innovation, creating wines that you don't just drink, but that communicate the energy of their birthplace with immediate and surprising drinkability.
A very young and pure Riesling
The Dexheimer philosophy can be summarized in a mantra: "Wine is made in the vineyard, not in the cellar." This obsession with quality translates into meticulous work among the vines, where practices close to organic and biodynamic principles are rigorously adopted—use of natural preparations, reduced yields, and deep respect for nature.
In the cellar, intervention is kept to the bare minimum essential for the fruit to express itself: all fermentations are spontaneous, relying on indigenous yeasts, and aging takes place in old, traditional oak barrels (Stückfass) to give body and complexity without masking the varietal purity. The result is a glass of absolute tension and cleanliness: wines that don't shout, but overwhelm you with their mineral intensity and a crispness that seriously risks becoming your new addiction.
