"BACEN is the result of our captivating challenge and constant pursuit of excellence in the Metodo Classico."

Delicate aromas of wild flowers and roses intertwine with citrus notes such as blood oranges and grapefruit zest. Hints of almond, dried fruit, and tobacco. A wine of structure, powerful in the mid-palate with a very fine perlage. Forgotten in the cellar, it acquires complexity and length, resulting in a long-lived and elegant wine.

From the producer

Tiziano Bellini

The Tiziano Bellini Winery sinks its roots in Sabbioni Viadana, a stretch of Mantuan land historically suited to viticulture, situated between the bends of the Po River. The production philosophy is based on the enhancement of the inseparable bond between the area’s peculiar sandy-loam terroir — which gives the wines significant sapidity and aromatic finesse — and a family tradition that has evolved from personal use to the desire to introduce the peculiarities of this territory to the world. The plain created by the millennia-old floods of the Po River qualifies the character of Val d’Oca in that tongue of land which, bordering the Oglio Natural Park, wedges into the Po between San Matteo and Sabbioni in the municipality of Viadana and the Val ad li Teri “Valley of the Vineyards”, near Sabbioneta.

Initially clay-loam, the soil becomes sandy-silty in grain size, therefore deep and well-drained near the embankments of the ancient river course. The perimeter sandy-loam texture allows the vines to modulate root penetration compatibly with different seasonal climatic trends. The presence of a delicate surface limestone vein forces the vine to perform selective and delicate radical absorptions. From a climatic profile, the vineyards are exposed to a climate considered intermediate between Mediterranean and oceanic with harsh winters, very sunny summers, and temperate intermediate seasons. Vineyard management is oriented towards precision viticulture, with a planting density designed to favor the natural physiological balance of the plants, thus guaranteeing an optimal concentration of aromatic precursors and polyphenols in the grapes.
