An entry-level wine of the highest caliber. The cuvée is primarily composed of Pinot Noir (90%), balanced with Chardonnay (10%). Its uniqueness lies in the process: fermentation takes place entirely in small 205-liter oak barrels, using only indigenous yeasts. Lahaye avoids fining and filtration, minimizing the use of sulfur.

Tasting this Champagne is an explosion of vitality. The classic notes of Bouzy Pinot Noir emerge strongly—small red fruits, orange zest, and a hint of toasted brioche—but it is the chalky character and minerality that dominate the scene.

On the palate, tension reigns. The entry is straight, vertical, and incredibly clean thanks to the absence of dosage. The structure is powerful and vinous, yet pierced by a blade of citrus freshness that cleanses the palate and invites the next sip. The finish is remarkably long, saline, and almost 'crunchy'.

From the producer

Benoit Lahaye

Located in the beating heart of the Montagne de Reims, in Bouzy, the Benoit Lahaye estate represents the pinnacle of artisanal and signature Champagne. A pioneer of biodynamics (certified since 2003), Benoit, alongside his wife Valérie, cultivates just under five hectares with a philosophy that places soil vitality at the core of everything. Here, the work is dictated by the rhythms of nature: the use of horses between the rows to prevent soil compaction and the total absence of chemicals result in grapes of disarming purity. The outcome is a range of Champagnes that are true expressions of terroir, capable of conveying the power and minerality of the Grand Cru in a raw and honest way.
