Lumassina 100%, an indigenous variety now grown only in the small valleys of the hinterland. The grapes come from a centuries-old terraced vineyard that we could call “monumental” for its beauty: a series of dry stone walls literally clinging to the hillside and all around the chestnut and pine forest.

The farming system is also very old: L'Ambrustin where the vines have for support chestnut poles from the surrounding forest and are tied together with willow branches. Lumassin is a complicated grape with small, compact clusters, fine skin and late ripening, which is why the harvest is done in several passes to achieve good overall complexity.

The vinifications are also all separate with maceration on the skins ranging from 10 to 20 days. the wine then ages in wood for 11 months.

Tasting reveals an elegant and potentially long-lived wine with a summer soul with notes of cedar, broom and medicinal herbs. The finish is very fresh, with herbaceous and complex notes of saltiness and honey.

Terrazze Singhie

Terrazze Singhie was born in 2017, from the passion of Sara Polo and Mauro Migliavacca for organic viticulture and natural wine.

We are located in Liguria, and more precisely in the province of Savona, among the narrow valleys of Orco Feligno, and it is here that the guys have recovered an ancient vineyard of more than 100 years terraced on the steep slopes of the hill at about 300 mt/slm. An authentic work of rural architecture, beautiful to behold.

Here they were seized by the conviction that, due to its geographical and historical characteristics, the terroir of Liguria can give wines that are unique in the world; and then the encounter with Lumassina, an indigenous variety cultivated in only three valleys in the Savona area. A unique grape, capable of giving a long-lived and authentic wine.

Preserving an agricultural memory, safeguarding an environment of great historical value, being able to work with a practically nonexistent variety; all this combined with a genuine passion led them to start the “Terrazze Singhie” project and produce authentic wines with deep breath and unique taste.
