The Wolf winery is located in the Mittelhaardt region of the Palatinate, southwest Germany.
Dennis Wolf is the very talented winemaker who now manages the winery, representing the sixth generation of the wolf family involved in wine. 14 hectares of vineyards, 70 percent of which are classified Premier and Grand/Cru, showing that this area is particularly suited, with a very warm microclimate-the Palatinate is the second warmest region in Germany-and limestone soils covered with a mineral-rich loess layer.
It has been run biodynamically since 2018, with Demeter certification from 2021.
Dennis, a traveling winemaker
"The main influence on my thinking has undoubtedly been French wine culture. Starting in 2012 at the "Domaine de L'Horizon" in Lime, southern France, where thanks to Thomas Teibert a tireless companion in wine tastings and discussions, my irrepressible passion was born. After that experience I enrolled at the University of Viticulture and Enology in Geisenheim, in 2013 another important experience with Klaus-Peter Keller of the winery of the same name in Flörsheim-Dalsheim. Then I moved to "Domaine Ostertag" where I became acquainted with Biodynamics, until I got to Poligny in the heart of the Jura where I worked at the domaine "Les Chais du Vieux Bourg" another milestone in my journey, to continue all the way to the Loire where I worked at the legendary "domaine Dagueneau"..."
Dennis' experiences do not end there, and this important wandering has given rise to an awareness of his own terroir and his ability to interpret the vintage, which today translates into bright and fully expressive wines, true sips of joy, elegance and vitality.
