Domaine de la Roche Specialities: Red wine

The Domaine de la Roche is a project born in December 2019 thanks to the vision of two friends: Mathieu, who represents the fifth generation of winemakers who have always tended the vineyards that now belong to the domaine, and Charles, a dear friend they met in Germany.

Mathieu and Charles are part of the new generation of Beaujolais winemakers and produce lively, lively, drinkable wines.

They cultivate 7.5 hectares of vines mainly in the Lantignié area, where the vines they work with are between 30 and 100 years old! They also cultivate 0.5 hectares of Régnié Cru. All their sites are organically farmed and are in the process of obtaining certification.

Organic Farming

The conversion to organic farming was an important step for Mathieu and Charles. “Every day we think about how to get the best out of the plant and the soil without altering natural processes. We work with respect for the plant, the soil and nature, putting living beings at the center of our agriculture.Mathieu Collonge

The small plots, typical of the Beaujolais region, are perfectly suited to this way of conceiving agriculture and allow each individual plot to be worked in a particular way: keeping in mind each type of soil encountered and each specific need of the vineyard. A work on the particular done with great sensitivity and attention.

“Our goal is to create a fair and true wine, as close as possible to the terroir in which the vines grew and the grapes ripened.”
