Cascina Elena Specialities: Sparkling wine

Cascina Elena is a small artisanal winery in the heart of Alta Langa. The project was born from the meeting of like-minded personalities: Filippo is Roman, with a wine-making past in the Tuscan hills, while Peter and Elaine are American, from New York: here they both found a home, surrounded by peace and slowness.

In 2020, together, they set up Cascina Elena.

The goal is simple: to bring terroir into the bottle, without flaws and without corrections. "Straightforward, genuine and unfiltered, our wines will always be the most authentic expression of our vintages, each with its own story made up of light and shade." This is done by relying on organic farming where the work is done with respect for the place, striving to understand how to cultivate without presumption, without distorting the original landscape and without underestimating the difficulties.

Surrounding the Cascina Elena vineyards is the forest, which acts as protection and an amplifier of biodiversity.

The Alta Langa territory

The soils here are rich in marl and limestone, with more clayey brown veins running perpendicularly across the hillside. In some places, sand prevails, a reminder of how these lands were once submerged by the sea.

The winery is a gem perfectly set in its natural context, where the word sustainability is experienced at 360 degrees. The architectural design of the winery also stems from the idea of minimising the impact on the surrounding landscape as much as possible, but that is not all; in fact, the structure must not only house the production and storage of wine, but host a dynamic and aggregating centre for cultural activities and meetings, a place for contemplation and appreciation of the extraordinary surrounding landscape.

Cascina Elena, a reality to be discovered!
