Cotes du Rhone Brise Cailloux Blanc 2019
Matthieu Barret is a genius, and it is clear that in every genius there is a pinch of madness, suffice it to say that the “Brise-Cailloux” cuvèe was the first to be produced in white in the entire AOC Cornas area.
He understood that here the three grape varieties, Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne, give a very different expression from the reds produced on the same terroir, with more minerality expressed and less power. The style is intentionally tighter and cooler than most southern white wines, although it retains good roundness and fatness. This Côtes du Rhône white produced on granite soils shows great drinkability and verticality not usually found in Rhône whites.

Domaine du Coulet
Founded in 1998 by Matthieu Barret, Domaine du Coulet covers 10 hectares in the Cornas appellation, planted on ancient terraces facing east. The terroir of Cornas is very special, made up of ancient, highly degraded granite formations called "gore," Matthieu Barret maintains low yields, never exceeding 25 hl/ha, and with cultivation that respects the environment and the balance of the plants, he aims to create authentic wines with great personality.
