A wine in perfect “Bornard” style, sharp as a blade and deep. The sensations of this wine deviate slightly from what we are used to thinking about Chardonnay. Citrusy, almost citrine notes reveal the provenance of the grapes. Captivating mineral density that creates an enveloping, savory sip. Long finish, where the wine finally opens into a smooth sensation

Tony Bornard

The Bornard family Domaine is located in Pupillin in the heart of the Jura region.

The transition from Philippe, the region's historic and acclaimed winemaker, to Tony his son took place in 2017. Tony has continued the winery management by following his father's natural philosophy and trying to take one more step forward by drastically decreasing the already rare treatments in the vineyard. Experimentation is still ongoing, but the results of the first years of the new management are absolutely encouraging.

Tony produces wonderful wines from 6 ha of vineyard planted with the native varieties: Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau in addition to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay historically found in the Jura.

The vineyards are situated quite high and have deep, limestone and clay soil. These circumstances ensure that ripening does not occur too quickly and that all the aromas can develop optimally.
