Wine Box "Pinot Nero di Toscana"
Tuscany's Pinot Noir
Pinot Nero in Tuscany is a challenge won against clichés. This wine box celebrates the nobility of the Burgundian grape variety, reinterpreted through five radically different Tuscan terroirs: from the cool peaks of Casentino and Mugello to the marine influences of the coast.
Five expressions, five territorial souls:
-
Cuna 2020 (Federico Staderini): From Casentino, a masterful and profound interpretation. The poor soil and high altitude yield an austere wine of great finesse, with noble spicing and impressive longevity.
-
Gattaia 2022 (Terre di Giotto): A mountain Pinot Nero born in Mugello. Here, the Apennine terroir translates into wild freshness, vibrant acidity, and crunchy small red fruits; pure energy in the glass.
-
Macea 2024: From Garfagnana, a "borderline" wine. A product of heroic viticulture, it stands out for its herbaceous and floral notes, with a lean mouthfeel and an almost sharp minerality, mirroring a cool and humid climate.
-
Aliotti 2023 (Podere Ortica): A warmer and fleshier expression, where the fruit emerges with greater roundness. An accessible and sunny Pinot Nero that still maintains an elegant acidic backbone.
-
Aia Vecchia 2022: A modern and structured approach. Here, the Tuscan terroir provides a denser tannic texture and a more intense color, blending the elegance of the variety with the strength of the land that hosts it.
This Box is a geological and climatic journey: to discover how "Le Roi" of grape varieties can shed its skin, moving from the verticality of Apennine frosts to the softness of the Tuscan hills.
