Les Murgiers Brut Nature
Faverolles-et-Coëmy, Vallèe de la Marne
Les Murgiers is the estate’s flagship cuvée. Structured and commanding on the palate, this Champagne embodies the authentic style of Francis Boulard.
It is a blend of 60% Pinot Meunier, 28% Pinot Noir, and 12% Chardonnay, primarily from the 2022 harvest. The vines average 35 years of age and thrive on the clay-limestone soils of the Marne Valley and the Massif de Saint-Thierry.
For this wine, only the "cuvée" (the first juice from the first pressing) is used. Vinification takes place in neutral, second-passage oak barrels, with alcoholic fermentation occurring spontaneously through indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation is also completed to enhance texture.
Tasting notes: The nose opens with dried fruit, white-fleshed fruits, and citrus, underscored by a delicate floral note. On the palate, the Champagne shows a magnificent presence, boasting a powerful and aromatic structure. A truly full-bodied and expressive Champagne.
Francis Boulard
Francis Boulard is the face of an uncompromising Champagne, a purist vigneron who tuned into the call of the land long before biodynamics became a trend. In the heart of the Massif de Saint-Thierry, Francis, alongside his daughter Delphine, tends to just over three hectares as if they were a private garden, guided by the rhythms of the moon and the breath of the limestone and sandy soils. Here, among old vines of Meunier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, chemicals are strictly forbidden to make way for biodynamic preparations and a vision that places soil vitality at the very core of everything.
The result is a pinpoint-accurate farming that translates into healthy, vibrant grapes, brimming with that mineral tension that only a truly respected terroir can return.
