Francesco de Filippis is an experienced agronomist originally from Vico Equense who chose the hills of San Miniato, in the province of Pisa, to breathe life into a deeply personal and artisanal winemaking project. Francesco's story is not one of inherited tradition, but of an elective bond with the land, cultivated through years of experience in wineries where he implemented his agricultural vision before pursuing his own dream. His production philosophy translates into actions oriented toward maximum sustainability. The goal is not to dominate nature, but to act as a mindful guardian, capable of enhancing old Sangiovese, Trebbiano, and Malvasia vines through spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention in the cellar, allowing the wine to express itself without filters.
A blessed territory
The nearby Tyrrhenian Sea and the Tramontana winds blowing from the north create a particularly suitable microclimate, characterized by very hot summer days but consistently cool nights.
Combined with these climatic conditions is a soil favorable to the vine, rich in fossil remains that certify the marine origin of these hills.

The unique geological characteristics of the San Miniato area were shaped by a prehistoric past as a seabed. The soil is, in fact, rich in Pliocene sediments and fossil shells, a calcareous and sandy matrix that gives the wines an unmistakable saline and mineral imprint. This bond with the ancient sea, combined with a breezy microclimate and agriculture that respects biodiversity, allows Francesco to produce labels of extraordinary purity and verticality.
