Vina Rojac

The small Rojac farm produces exclusively organically farmed wines from traditional indigenous varieties especially Refoška and Malvasia. We are located in Gazon in northern Istria, a terroir characterized by the presence of the sea and the fresh Balkan currents, with stony soils with limestone subsoil.
Work on the farm is characterized by great care and precision in the vineyard, where grapes of the highest quality are born. In the winery, efforts are made to accompany the musts toward their transformation into wine with minimal intervention, constantly monitoring evolution, minimizing intervention in the most natural way possible.
The wines of Uros are territorial, very interesting and tell of a magical place. They are characterized by great finesse and drinkability. An excellent discovery for Rollingwine.
Wines rich in history
Istria has always been a wine territory, and for over 400 years the Rojac family has been engaged in viticulture in the village of Gažon, on the beautiful hills surrounding Capodistria.
The wine from this area has always been appreciated, so much so that in the then Republic of Venice, the red wine from these places, produced in the best years, was called “Renero” and was taxed three times more than the rest of the wines. In fact, it was said to be a wine with medicinal effects that was reserved for patricians and doges in Venice.
