Bereche et Fils Specialities: Champagne

Raphael and Vincent are the fifth generation of the Bérêche family , true vignerons who, since 1847, have been passionately cultivating their land in Ludes, in the beating heart of the Montagne de Reims. Their property covers 11.5 hectares, between the Premier Cru of Ludes and Ormes, with small, precious plots scattered along the Vallée de la Marne. Their approach to viticulture took a decisive turn in 2004, when they chose to completely abandon synthetic treatments and herbicides and embrace a more natural and earth-friendly philosophy . In the winery, tradition rules: no filtrations, long spontaneous fermentations and a deep respect for every single bottle that is born. As they like to say, “The vine is the starting point of every wine.” A journey that starts from the earth and arrives in goblets ready to tell its whole story.

Champagne consistent and fair

“Every action is thought out with this in mind. Of course, our soils are plowed and we manage weeds to regulate the vigor of our vines and limit disease. Good management of this vegetation cover allows us not to have to use herbicides, insecticides or herbicides.

So it all starts with the soil. Fertilization is organic, we feed the fauna, which in turn feeds the flora; that's how the soil works.

Our winegrowing team prunes and cares for the vines with great sensitivity, respecting the individuality of each vine.

All our interventions during the growing season are governed by the threshold of disease tolerance, so no treatment is systematic and we tailor the dose to the plant using the best agricultural technologies.

Thanks to our practices, we are among the estates that treat the least, with the lowest treatment frequency indices in the Champagne region.” Vincent Bereche
