Cristian Ronfini Contadino

Col San Martino, Treviso
Cristian Ronfini is a young 30-year-old farmer born and raised in the hills of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, more precisely in Col San Martino in the province of Treviso.
He comes from a family that has been involved in wine production for at least 3 generations and has been making his own wine and bottling excellent sparkling wines for around 30 years.
In 2013, after graduating from the Conegliano oenological school and gaining a little experience in other companies, he joined the family business, dealing mostly with the agronomic side, taking care of the vineyards with the aim of producing high quality grapes. "This is how I started experimenting and producing my first bottles of refermented wine in 2014, which, despite the year not being one of the best, is still proving to be really interesting almost 10 years later.
At the basis of my way of making wine is the intent and objective of transmitting a territory and a tradition, which in my opinion are much more valid than the perception that has been created over the last 20 years." Cristian
The personal project
As the years went by, Cristian felt the need to make a project of his own grow within him, so in 2021 he took over the management of 1.3 hectares of vineyard and set off on a new adventure "Cristian Ronfini Contadino".
In the vineyard, work is carried out with a very low environmental impact: zero chemicals, no herbicides or synthetic plant protection products, only copper-based, sulphur-based and zeolite cover products are used, and only organic fertilisation with cow manure or compost.
Even in the cellar, Christian intervenes as little as possible: use of very little sulphur dioxide, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, zero clarifiers and/or stabilisers.
A new project waiting to be discovered!
