Cinque Campi: Century-Old Roots, Contemporary Vision.
Over two centuries of family history in the foothills of the Reggio Apennines: a journey deeply rooted in the past. What for 200 years was a precious tradition reserved exclusively for the family evolved in 1980 into an identity-driven project: the Cinque Campi estate was born.
From local sales in demijohns to the 2003 revolution: the company formalized its organic vocation — a production philosophy always practiced by natural instinct — and made its market debut with its first bottling, which could immediately be defined as a signature production.
The true turning point came in 2005 with an ambitious project of viticultural archaeology: the recovery and replanting of forgotten native varieties. A courageous choice that allowed for production diversification, elevating quality standards toward original, authentic labels deeply tied to the terroir. Today, Cinque Campi translates biodiversity into a high-profile sensory experience.
Method and Vineyard
The adoption of organic methods in viticulture and all other farm production is driven by a deep-rooted conviction: natural balance must never be compromised or altered. Every single living organism found on the leaves, the shoots, and in the soil is an integral part of the territory's ecosystem—a harmony and authenticity that is reflected in the wines of Cinque Campi.
"We are convinced that this is the only possible way to produce wine"
The vineyards are located across three distinct plots. The heritage site known as “Cinquecampi,” which faces east; the plot named “Le Marcone,” facing west; and two newer parcels, “Botteghe” and “La Bora lunga,” facing northwest.
In silty-clay soil (20% sand, 45% silt, 35% clay), native varieties such as Malbo Gentile, Spergola, and Lambrusco Grasparossa are cultivated, alongside other varieties like Marzemino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Moscato, and Carmenere.
Production yields are kept between 1.5 and 3 kg per vine, depending on the variety.
