Grape variety: Sangiovese

Vinification: spontaneous fermentation, maceration on the skins for 25 days in glass-lined cement vats from 25 to 50 Hl.

Aging: in 26 Hl Slavonian oak casks for 36 months. A further 30 months in bottle

Serving temperature: 18-20° C

A difficult year in Montalcino, characterised by an unstable spring and a cool, rainy summer. Many decided not to go out with the most important wines, others like Florio made selections in the field, lowering the yield to try to propose a Brunello in what was certainly a peculiar vintage.

The gamble was won, but the more far-sighted had guessed from the outset that '2014 must be waited for', they always repeated. Now, 10 years after the harvest, the wine shows itself in all its magnetic capacity. Definitely lighter than a Brunello in a classic vintage, fine and whispery in its tannins and fruity expression, it nevertheless retains a good density and freshness that make it very elegant. Absolutely to be tried.
