A native variety of the upper Maremma that had been explanted to make room for other more colorful and full-bodied varieties. At Ampeleia it was replanted in 2003, believing strongly that this could be the truest and most authentic grape variety to express the Mediterranean Maremma.

In the vineyard of "La Pieve" it has found its ideal habitat: the clay soils mixed with pebbles and puddinghe give delicacy, lightness and a harmonious character.

Wine that amazes, on the one hand joyful and fun on the other knows how to be elegant. Fruity notes of Strawberry and ripe berries, aromas of flowers and spices, slightly earthy mouth finish. Very good!
