Le “Finage,” meaning terroir, is the name given to this wine from different plots in Marsannay. The vines grow on different, slightly different clay-limestone soils, the sum of which is a fully rounded wine with energetic tannins, juicy fruit notes, especially raspberry and an intense spicy note. Finish of great texture and freshness, the typical characteristics of a "textbook" Marsannay!

We recommend drinking this wine now to appreciate its energy and youthful verve (ferments 50% whole cluster), but it can be cellared for more than 5 years.

Classic aging: for about 12 months in oak barriques (with 15% new barrels) and 6 months in stainless steel tanks.

Domaine René Bouvier

The domaine has been owned by the Bouvier family for three generations. Since 1992 it has been managed by Bernard Bouvier. Founded by Henri Bouvier in 1910 it grew thanks to René his son, who took control in 1950 and expanded it to an area of 12 hectares by 1991. With Bernard's tenacity and modern vision today the hectares have grown to 17 and the vineyards are located in six of the most important “villages” including: Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin and Marsannay with Premier Cru and Grand Cru plots.

Classic Burgundy grapes are grown: Pinot Noir for red wines and Marsannay Rosé and Chardonnay and Aligoté for whites.

The vines are on average 50 years old, but some Gevrey-Chambertin plots are over 80 years old.
