Producer: Filipa Pato
3B Blanc de Blancs Spumante Metodo Classico
Óis do Bairro, Anadia, Portugal
Super-territorial blends of Maria Gomes, Bical and Cercial; sourced from the clay and chalk slopes of Barraida under the direct influence of Atlantic currents, which ensure excellent grape health and a special climate, with cool nights even in the height of summer. Thus the grapes ripen more slowly and the aromatic part is more developed.
The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed. Foaming takes place in the bottle where the wine ages 9 months on the lees. No dosage.
Crisp and fragrant sparkling wine with notes of thyme and lemon. On the palate fruity notes of fresh quince, lively salinity and limey acidity that elevate this "simple" sparkling wine to a delicious sip, a lighthearted yet characterful glass!
Filipa Pato
Filipa Pato is a producer originally from the Barraida region, an area that is located a few kilometers away from the Atlantic Ocean, which positively influences its climate, making it particularly suited to quality viticulture.
Filipa is a child of art; her father Luis is considered one of the key figures in Portuguese viticulture, the one who first believed all the way in the excellence of Barraida's productions, investing everything in quality and local grape varieties. Following in his father's footsteps, Filipa opened his own winery in 2001 and from the beginning his philosophy has been to work only with native grapes (Baga, Bical, Maria Gomes, Sercial..)in search of Barraida's most vocated vineyards.
In 2010 Filipa's husband William, a well-known Belgian sommelier and restaurateur, also joined the project.
Filipa's wines have an Atlantic finesse rare to be found in the area, you will find tradition and a fresh and current vision, gastronomic but without commitment, in one of the most vocated territories of Portugal.
