Allergens: contiene solfitiEdgar's vineyard of only 0.8 hectares is one of only two known Grünspitz vineyards in the world. It was traditionally grown in field blends in the area, but it was Edgar's grandfather who decided to bring it back.
The grapes are late-ripening, small berry with thick skins. It needs a long high-pressure crush to manage the tannins and extra time in the bottle to regain harmony. The 2020 was a vintage characterized by slow fermentations. Along with the flower must Edgar left some whole clusters, and a small mass with 2 days of skin contact, all fermented in very lightly toasted Stockinger barrels.
On tasting, the wine is really elegant, with crisp, well-defined fruit followed by honey, herbs and wildflowers, and cinnamon.
