Ecume De Terre 2022 Cote Chalonnaise AOC
Moroges, Chalon sur Saone
A beautiful expression of the Côte Chalonnaise from Domaine de la Luolle. This is 100% Chardonnay from vines with a considerable average age of 50 years, grown on clay-limestone soils exposed southwest, ensuring optimal ripeness and fantastic minerality.
The vinification is minimalist. The grapes, strictly harvested by hand, are pressed, and the must is cold settled. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in fûts (French oak barrels) of 228L and 400L. The wine then ages on the fine lees directly in the barrel, with no sulfur added during this period.
This choice enhances the complexity and fullness of the fruit. In the glass, the wine is completely "free," a sensation immediately evident from its particularly brilliant color. The nose is an engaging mix of exotic fruit, floral notes, and a delicate, well-integrated hint of vanilla. On the palate, sapidity (savory mineral essence) dominates, supporting a vibrant fruit profile and giving a straightforward and pleasant sip. This is a Chardonnay to drink now to appreciate its freshness, but it also has aging potential for a few years.

Domaine de la Luolle
Domaine de la Luolle is an ode to the Côte Chalonnaise! Pure wines that tell us an unprecedented story of this area.
Domaine de la Luolle, located in Moroges, is not a winery that follows trends. For over 50 years, a farming model has been proposed here that has become a benchmark for the winemakers of the area. Here, respect for the land is not a marketing claim; it's a family history that began long before "organic" became a buzzword often stripped of meaning.
The approach is pure and uncompromising: to create wines that speak of the territory, that awaken the senses, and that are perfect for authentic shared moments.
"Our vineyards are planted on clay-limestone or clay-silt soils in a semi-continental climate. They are distributed across several appellations: Givry and Mercurey, Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise, and Aligoté. This diversity of terroirs brings completely different aromatic profiles as a gift—that's where the beauty lies! Our two regional grape varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, can express themselves in countless ways."
