This is a stunning cru from Contrada Contro, crafted from a blend of Malvasia Bianca di Candia, Trebbiano, Maceratino, and Verdicchio.

The vines, planted back in 1972, reach deep into the earth at an altitude of approximately 620 meters above sea level. The soil consists of a mosaic of sand, silt, and limestone, a combination that ensures a distinct sapidity and a razor-sharp freshness.

Upon tasting, notes of white wildflowers and ripe yellow fruit emerge clearly, enhanced by a spicy touch of ginger that refreshes the entire profile.

On the palate, the entry is vertical and snappy. This is a wine that "bites the rock," where the saline component dominates the scene, supported by a structure that remains solid yet consistently light.

Roots and Rebirth in the Sibillini Mountains

Nestled within the Sibillini Mountains, Contrada Contro is the visionary project of Andrea Polidoro. After honing his expertise in the prestigious regions of Bordeaux and Montalcino, the winemaker returned to his Marche roots to breathe new life into ancient vineyards. His mission centers on restoring ungrafted vines and heirloom varieties—such as Trebbiano and Verdicchio—grown in sandy, silty soils. By embracing organic principles and honoring natural cycles, he has turned traditional heritage into a bold expression of modern viticulture.
