Contrada Contro 2024 Marche IGT
Contrada Contro, Macerata
Contrada Contro 2024 is the result of a field blend based on Trebbiano, Malvasia Bianca, Santa Maria, Verdicchio, and Maceratino.
The grapes hail from the historic vineyards in Contrada Contro, which consist of ancient vines grown through intermingled planting. This choice perfectly reflects the winery's philosophy: celebrating vineyard biodiversity to create a wine that serves as a faithful, liquid snapshot of the Macerata territory. The soil, characterized by a rich calcareous-clay matrix, imparts an electric sapidity to the wine.
Upon tasting, notes of wildflowers, fresh citrus, and a distinct minerality reminiscent of flint dominate. On the palate, the attack is direct and taut; citrusy acidity guides the sip, making it nimble and incredibly inviting. The finish is long and savory, with a pleasant return of aromatic herbs.

Contrada Contro
Roots and Rebirth in the Sibillini Mountains
Nestled within the Sibillini Mountains, Contrada Contro is the visionary project of Andrea Polidoro. After honing his expertise in the prestigious regions of Bordeaux and Montalcino, the winemaker returned to his Marche roots to breathe new life into ancient vineyards. His mission centers on restoring ungrafted vines and heirloom varieties—such as Trebbiano and Verdicchio—grown in sandy, silty soils. By embracing organic principles and honoring natural cycles, he has turned traditional heritage into a bold expression of modern viticulture.
