One of Domaine de la Tournelle’s most iconic wines, it represents a masterful interpretation of Savagnin in the ouillé (topped-up barrel) style.

The grapes come from vineyards located in the Montpellier and St. Sir Mont Malin lieux-dits, characterized by grey marl soils that are perfect for enhancing the Savagnin's crisp acidity and minerality.

A complex and rich wine with citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit zest, followed by green apple, alpine herbs, white flowers, iodized nuances, and a distinct "flinty" mineral sensation, accompanied by a subtle yeasty/bready note from the long aging process.

On the palate, it is tense, energetic, and precise. It boasts a bracing yet perfectly integrated acidity within an opulent, textured structure. The finish is incredibly long, distinctly saline, and clean. A wine of great energy.

From the producer

Domaine de la Tournelle

The Domaine de la Tournelle was born thanks to Evelyne and Pascal Clairet in 1991. The aim from the outset was to make wines that truly and clearly tell the story of the Jura territory. Today, the company owns 7 hectares all in the commune of Arbois, a large part of which is in the spectacular Couron Cru in the lieu dit 'Les Corvées'.

The special feature is that all new replantings are the result of continuous mass selection from the oldest estate vineyards. Every year, the under-row is hoed by hand! They have always wanted to work with little chemical intervention in the vineyard (Bio and Biodynamic cert. in 2010), and in the cellar they do not even use sulphur dioxide.
