Vinification: After being harvested into crates, the grapes are taken to the winery, destemmed, and fermented with wild yeasts on their skins without temperature control.

Aging: It is aged partly in concrete tanks and partly in untoasted Slavonian oak barrels with its own yeasts for at least one year. Bottled unfiltered, it then undergoes a period of bottle aging.

Garganega macerated on the skins. This is a wine that, even in 2026, has yet to reach its full maturity—it still has a long life ahead of it.

The skin contact grants it a magnetic, deep amber hue. On the palate, the volcanic minerality merges with an enveloping, almost tactile structure, where notes of dried apricot, medicinal herbs, and a touch of spice chase each other in a deep and incredibly energetic sip. It’s a wine that "bites" just right, featuring a subtle tannin that makes it the ideal companion for bolder dishes or simply for those evenings when you crave something complex yet dangerously drinkable.

Monte del Cuca comes from a half-hectare vineyard nestled in the volcanic hills of Gambellara. "Cuca" was the nickname of one of the historic former owners of that specific plot of land. Naming a bottle after the vineyard (the "cru") is the most honest way of saying: "this piece of land made this wine." So, every time you uncork a Monte del Cuca, you are drinking the history of that little hill and of those who walked its soil long before the Menti family.

The story of the Menti family unfolds across a century and a half of history, beginning in the late 19th century when the founder, Giovanni, settled in Gambellara, laying the foundations for a tradition deeply rooted in volcanic soils. A pivotal turning point came in 1964, the year Antonio was joined by a young Giovanni (known as Gianni), who would go on to define an era by completing an impressive 51 harvests through 2014.

Driven by Stefano’s innovative spirit, the new millennium brought a profound transformation: 2002 marked the beginning of a return to sustainable viticulture, a journey that culminated in 2010 with the practical introduction of biodynamic methods and in 2011 with the achievement of official organic certification. These milestones represent the perfect synthesis of past heritage and a vision of winemaking projected toward the future.
