Sagona Specialities: Red wine

The farm was established in March 2012 by Daniele Corrotti and is located at 500 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Pratomagno massif, in the province of Arezzo. Cultivation is organic. The land is all leased: small peasant farms organized according to subsistence farming: olive trees, vegetable garden, arable land and fruit trees are often found alongside the vineyards. A small corner of paradise in the wildest “minor” Tuscany.

A strong identity

The main productions are oil and wine: the 4 ha vineyard area consists of small plots not exceeding one hectare each, and the vines have an average age of 40 years. There is a small oil mill on the farm, where freshly harvested estate olives are pressed. As of 2015 A Sagona also has a small tavern where you can enjoy local delicacies.

We are on the slopes of Pratomagno, a place that is scenically stunning but at great risk of abandonment. Here we are in “minor” Tuscany: beautiful but little known, traversed by discreet tourism.

"To be a farmer in the best way possible (respecting the land, the workers, the consumers) is to help guard an area. To put WORK at the center of the discourse on agriculture. To not limit ourselves to the “I” but to try to build a “we” together with the other realities of the territory, to participate from below (and to the left) in the political life of a predominantly rural community. To this end we have started the Pratomagno Producers Association." Daniele
