Quarticello Specialities: Sparkling white wine

Founded in 2001 in Montecchio Emilia, in the "Quarticello" area, the winery of the same name is the result of Roberto Maestri's passion. From the very beginning, his mission has been to fully enhance native grape varieties such as Lambrusco, Malvasia di Candia, Spergola, and Malbo Gentile. The vineyards, located in the Val d'Enza, lie on rich and diverse soils and are cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic farming, with full respect for biodiversity. In the field, only natural products are used, and practices like branched pruning, shoot selection, and manual defoliation are carried out to ensure the grapes are of the highest quality and health.

Natural re-fermentation in the bottle.

Quarticello's artisanal approach continues in the cellar, where the goal is to enhance the pure expression of the fruit. For this reason, fermentations occur spontaneously, thanks to native yeasts, without the addition of external agents. Neither fining nor filtration is performed, to preserve the wine's integrity. Production focuses on naturally re-fermented sparkling wines in the bottle, a process that happens spontaneously with cold-preserved must, following the Emilian tradition. The winery also produces classic method sparkling wines and still wines, which are aged in stainless steel, wood, concrete barrels, and terracotta amphorae.
