Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation in vats of de-stemmed grapes (60%) and whole bunches (40%) with 8-day maceration on the skins. Malolactic fermentation carried out.

Aging: 9 months in steel on fine lees, then in bottle

Blend of Nerello Mascalese 90% and Nerello Cappuccio and Grenache 10%. We are on Etna's northern slope in Contrada Piano dei Daini, from 100-year-old vines planted with sapling vines at an altitude of 700 metres on volcanic soils rich in sand and volcanic ash.

A rich and explosive wine, the 20% whole cluster gives a wild note with green hints of great freshness. An elegant and profound wine, a wonderful discovery in an area that confirms itself as one of the most interesting on the entire Italian scene.

Nerina Cardile

Nerina Cardile is a young Sicilian producer with DNA and an Etnean heart. Hers is the classic story of someone who radically changes her life, driven by courage and lightness. A psychologist with a specialisation in psychotherapy from the University of Padua who, after working in this field for several years, in 2018 chose to heed the call of her land, what she likes to call ‘my Etna’, and return home.

Nerina Cardile was born and grew up in Solicchiata, a small and charming hamlet of Castiglione di Sicilia located over 700 metres above sea level on the slopes of Mount Etna, known worldwide for its wine production. She has always been connected to this winemaking tradition and has always wanted to take part in it herself.
