Producer: Save the Grape
Fihaia Rosso 2024 Toscana IGT Magnum
Progetto itinerante
100% Sangiovese from a 30-year-old vineyard from the Chianti Rufina area.
Only 1801 bottles produced and 51 magnums. Very modern streamlined and elegant Sangiovese with explosive fruit and refined tannins. Winemaking with part of the mass in whole clusters created a wine that is very sunny but not overly soft, given the area tends to be cool, which allows for slower ripening. The slightly early harvest time gives freshness and easy drinking.
A wine to be discovered, created by Piero's very sensitive hand.
Save the Grape
Save the Grape is Piero Scalambra. A Project that was born by redeveloping a vineyard in Maremma, a vineyard more than 30 years old that gave birth to Fihaia red 2021 and 2022.
This project was born with the 'goal of creating wines made in a simple and traditional way, aimed at freshness and ready drinking, which at the same time do not fear bottle aging.
From a technical point of view, the Save the Grape wines have in common and are characterized by special and dynamic vinifications, whole cluster fermentations and partial or total prolonged carbonic macerations, fermentation and aging in different materials such as cement, steel and terracotta.
Earlier vintages, lower ph, in one concept: leaner and more elegant wines.
