The Barolo DOCG 2022 by Cristina Prandi is the most noble and structured expression of this young producer’s vision. While her Langhe Nebbiolo focuses on immediacy and fragrance, the Barolo seeks depth, serving as a liquid narrative of the estate vineyards located in La Morra (Bricco Cogni area) and the prestigious Paiagallo cru.

The 2022 vintage, characterized by a warm and dry climate, was managed by Cristina with extreme precision to avoid excessive concentration and preserve the elegance that defines her style.

Upon tasting, notes of ripe red fruits and plum are accompanied by hints of violet, tobacco, and a subtle balsamic trace of eucalyptus. On the palate, the structure is imposing but supported by a vibrant freshness that ensures verticality. The tannins are noble and well-polished, with a long, savory, and pleasantly austere finish, typical of great artisanal Barolo.

Cristina Prandi

A Rediscovered Heritage and a New Dawn

Cristina Marello Prandi, born in 1998, embodies the paradox of being the latest heir to a historic dynasty and, simultaneously, the founder of a completely new project. Her family has deep roots in Barolo dating back to 1864, but after decades of male-led management and a 36-year production silence, the Prandi name had nearly vanished from wine labels. Thanks to the mentorship of her uncle Giuseppe—the silent guardian of the family’s vineyards and traditions—Cristina absorbed a profound respect for the land and the art of listening to nature. However, hers is not a simple succession; it is a rebirth. With a determination that turns obstacles into motivation, the young producer has reclaimed her destiny, investing in a new winery in La Morra to give voice to a heritage that was simply waiting to be revealed.
