Producer: Gheddo
Barolo DOCG 2021
La Morra, Cuneo
This Barolo is crafted from a 100% Nebbiolo selection from vineyards in La Morra at 350 meters above sea level, featuring a southwest exposure and rooted in calcareous, silty-loam sedimentary soil of Miocene origin.
The La Morra area typically expresses wines with a "gentle" character, where finesse and elegance lead a surprisingly light drinkability. This results in a "floral" Barolo with notes of violet and lavender that support a significant yet refined tannin. On the palate, it has a soft entry balanced by distinct freshness, with notes of red fruit, licorice, and black pepper. A spectacular wine with great aging potential.
Gheddo
The Winery Ghëddo embodies its vision within its very name. "Ghëddo" is a Piedmontese expression that evokes flair, creativity, and determination. A very young winery founded in 2017 by two friends, Giovanni and Mattia, they are united by a simple common vision: to transform this wine-growing estate based in La Morra into a place where viticulture is interpreted as an act of absolute dedication to the Langhe hills.
The project was born from the desire to translate the energy and vibrancy of the land into the bottle, focusing on an artisanal management style that places the winemaker at the center as the custodian of the land. Every production stage—from the meticulous care of the rows to the cellar decisions in Monforte d’Alba—is guided by the desire to enhance the authentic identity of each vintage, maintaining a deep bond with local traditions and a fresh, dynamic approach.
