Ca Rosso 2023 Valpolicella DOC
Mezzane di Sotto, Verona
We are on the limestone hills of Mezzane di Sotto, in the eastern part of the Valpolicella region.
A wine with a straightforward, artisanal soul: it is the winery’s calling card—a Valpolicella DOC that rejects excessive opulence to focus entirely on fragrance. This is a wine born "to be drunk," designed to tell the story of its terroir without filters.
It is a blend of the region's historic grape varieties: Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella.
The 2023 vintage stands out for its vibrant freshness. The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified exclusively in stainless steel, where the wine ages for about 8 months. This choice serves to preserve the pristine primary fruit of fresh cherry, accompanied by floral notes of violet and subtle hints of aromatic herbs like thyme.
Agile and snappy on the palate, it boasts a beautiful mineral savoriness derived from the limestone soils and a barely-there tannin that cleanses the palate.
It never gets tiring!
