Emphase Pinot Noir 2024
Comblanchien, Cote de nuits, Bourgogne
Cuvée Emphase 2024 is a nuanced assembly of the finest parcels in Comblanchien, where the Pinot Noir takes root in compact limestone soil. The 2024 vintage allowed Antoine to emphasize the 'verticality' that has become his signature, returning to a wine with a quintessentially Burgundian profile: fresh, slender, and deeply vibrant.
Produced using 100% whole-cluster vinification, the wine benefited from a minimal-intervention approach in the cellar. Rather than being 'constructed,' it was left free to express itself, maturing slowly in used oak and concrete vats to preserve the brilliance of the fruit.
Upon tasting, it reveals a transparent, almost ethereal ruby hue that heralds its refined elegance. The nose offers a tapestry of floral freshness interwoven with notes of crunchy red berries, such as raspberry and redcurrant. A subtle aromatic trail of white pepper and incense—characteristic of whole-cluster work—adds hypnotic complexity without being overpowering. In the mouth, the wine is striking for its 'electric' energy; the acidic backbone is sharp yet perfectly integrated into a silky, velvety tannic texture. The finish is long and distinctly mineral, leaving a saline trail that reflects the purity of the underlying limestone.
Antoine Lienhardt
Domaine Antoine Lienhardt, situated in the heart of Comblanchien within the prestigious Côte de Nuits, represents the contemporary evolution of a family legacy dating back to the 19th century. Antoine, a fourth-generation winemaker, took over the estate in 2011 after gaining diverse and significant experience in Chablis, Chambolle-Musigny, and South Africa, driven by the ambitious goal of elevating Comblanchien’s terroirs to the status they deserve. Joined in 2017 by his sister Héloïse, he has turned the domaine’s wines into a benchmark for those seeking extraordinary verticality and purity, honoring the old vines planted by his grandfather Maurice with a dedication that blends respect for heritage with a pioneering vision for the future of viticulture in Burgundy.
