Producer: Aurete
Lettera 2 Vino Rosso
Esperia, Frosinone
It is primarily composed of Syrah and Raspato Nero, an indigenous red grape variety typical of the area, recovered through the dedicated work of the winery.
In the cellar, Lettera 2 stands out for its use of inert vessels that preserve the purity of the fruit.
The name of the "Lettera" line (which also includes Lettera 3) evokes a direct and communicative approach—almost a "correspondence" between the producer, the wild territory of Esperia, and the drinker.
Indeed, upon tasting, it proves to be immediately approachable, fresh, and vibrant. It is a dynamic wine where the tannins and spicy aromatic profile find perfect balance with crisp, juicy red fruit, making it incredibly drinkable despite a very respectable mid-palate consistency.

Aurete
The story of Giovanni Vittiglio, Paolo Ingino, and Eugenio Varone begins long before the Aurete project was officially born in 2017. Master brewers first, then restaurateurs, they fell in love with this corner of Lower Lazio within the Aurunci Mountains Natural Park, discovering a millennial tradition of viticulture. In this isolated, pristine valley, they have become the protagonists of a true act of agricultural resistance blooming amidst the woods of Esperia, where ancient sedimentary carbonate rocks dictate the rules.
Their focus has been the recovery of ancient, forgotten indigenous grape varieties unique to this area. They centered their efforts on Reale Bianca and Raspato Nero—vines that, even today, remain ungrafted (piede franco)—producing wines that define the very essence of the Aurete project.
The estate manages approximately four hectares of vineyards under biodynamic cultivation, stripping away every chemical shortcut to let the land speak for itself. Here, wine isn't manufactured to follow the latest trends; it is guided with a visceral approach and a philosophy of minimal intervention. This aims to preserve the integrity of an ecosystem where the vines coexist with the Mediterranean scrub and the Apennine landscape, delivering an energy in the glass that can only be described as electric, alongside an aromatic purity that catches anyone accustomed to homogenized products completely off guard.
