Sassa 2024 Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG
San Gimignano, Siena
Sourced from 40 to 70-year-old vines perched at 400 meters above sea level. This Vernaccia undergoes a 3-hour skin maceration during pressing, followed by fermentation and aging in stainless steel for approximately one year before bottling.
A rustic interpretation of Vernaccia, boasting just the right amount of structure and a superb acidic backbone. Straightforward and spontaneous, it is defined by distinct chalky and marine notes.
Alessandro Tofanari
Nestled in the rolling hills overlooking the towers of San Gimignano, the La Castellaccia estate represents the very essence of artisanal Tuscan viticulture. Under the passionate guidance of Alessandro Tofanari and Simona Orsini, the winery has embraced a path of profound respect for the land, adopting organic and biodynamic principles. Here, the connection to the terroir is not just a slogan but a daily practice: the goal is to produce wines that serve as "liquid photographs" of the vintage and the soil, eschewing invasive interventions to let nature take its course both in the vineyard and the cellar.
