Efebo: A Grandson's Tribute in Wine
Efebo is a special wine crafted by Andrea as a dedication to his grandfather, whom he lovingly describes as "the university of my life." This heartfelt connection is poured into every bottle.
Efebo is a blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Sangiovese Grosso, sourced from vineyards planted in 2011 and 2016. These vines thrive in a mix of fine earth and clay soils, contributing to the wine's character.
The wine's refinement in barriques gives it a beautifully classic nose. You'll notice a soft woody note that's present but never overpowering, always balanced by continuous fruity and subtly herbaceous returns. The Sangiovese's tannins express themselves powerfully, adding complexity to a drinking experience that's rich in every aspect: structure, body, and aromatic profile. Efebo is a wine that truly pleases everyone with its clean and precise nature. It finishes with delightful notes of root and orange peel.
Andrea Paffarini
The Paffarini winery was established not far from the walls of the distinctive 13th-century circular castle of Ripa, a small village situated 313 meters above sea level and about 14 km from Perugia.
For four generations, the family has cultivated vines and olive trees on this land.
The young estate spans approximately 10 hectares, with 4 hectares dedicated to vines. The vineyards are located on sun-kissed hills, bathed in sunlight from dawn till dusk, and characterized by a mild and breezy climate.
