Naked Red SA, meaning a selection of different vintages.

A juicy and unfiltered red, it wins you over with its immediate drinkability, but does not sacrifice depth and structure.

It is made from various indigenous Burgenland grapes: primarily Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch, along with Saint Laurent and other "minor" varieties.

The grapes come from highly varied terroirs around Lake Neusiedl, ranging from the calcareous and schist slopes of Leithaberg to the gravelly soils of the Parndorfer plateau. In the cellar, the approach is minimal: after a skin maceration of about two weeks, fermentation is strictly spontaneous. The wine ages for over a year (usually 12–14 months) in large, neutral oak barrels.

In the glass, the Naked Red is spicy and engaging, dominated by crunchy red fruits like cherry, raspberry, and blackberry, enriched by notes of licorice, green pepper, aromatic herbs, and undergrowth. On the palate, the key word is juiciness: it is silky, slender, and incredibly agile, with a crisp freshness that enhances its drinkability. The tannins are delicate. It is a versatile red that excels when served slightly chilled.

From the producer

Heinrich Weingut

Heinrich is not just a winery, but the visionary project of Gernot and Heike Heinrich that has redefined the potential of the Austrian Burgenland, particularly in the area around Lake Neusiedl. Since the 1990s, the couple has stood out for a radical commitment to quality and sustainability, culminating in the complete adoption of Biodynamic agriculture (Demeter/Respekt certified).

The goal? To let the terroir speak without filters. Managing over 90 hectares divided between the calcareous and schist slopes of the Leithaberg and the gravelly soils of the Parndorfer plateau, Heinrich excels at giving voice to indigenous grape varieties such as Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, and St. Laurent, in addition to producing internationally renowned Chardonnay. Their philosophy is less is more: maximum care in the vineyard to obtain perfect grapes and zero compromises in the cellar.
