Saint Joseph En Attendant La Nuit 2023
Tournon-sur-Rhône, valle del Doux
"En Attendant La Nuit" 2023 is perhaps the most representative label of Étienne Seignovert's stylistic precision. It is a serious, profound wine, yet it possesses that "rock" vibration typical of the Rhône's new natural winemakers.
A Saint-Joseph that unites the classicism of the Northern Rhône with an energetic, lively, almost electric drinkability.
This cuvée is Étienne Seignovert's manifesto: a pure Syrah that is born from vines located on the steep granite slopes of Saint-Désirat. Here the terroir is the absolute protagonist: the decomposed granite soil (the famous gorrhe) imparts the mineral structure and tension that are the hallmark of the appellation's great reds, but interpreted with an incredibly light and respectful touch.
Taut, slender, juicy. Incredible, light finesse.
Etienne Seignovert
Etienne Seignovert, a winemaker in the Northern Rhône Valley about 20km west of Tain l’Hermitage, released his first vintage in 2020. After a tour of France to study first in Beaune and then in Montpellier, he decided to gain experience by working at various domaines before returning to the family property in Saint Barthélémy le Plain.
This area of the Doux Valley is particularly suited to viticulture, and he aims to create thoughtful wines that express freshness and delicacy. The goal is to establish a polyculture farm with an agroforestry structure, in full respect of biodiversity, with only one idea at the heart of the activity: the wine.
