Le Murmure de l'Eau 2024
Tournon-sur-Rhône, valle del Doux
This wine is an expressive symbol of the genius of Étienne Seignovert, made from an unusual yet successful blend of Jacquère, a variety that expresses beautiful minerality, and Marsanne, with its juicy pulp.
Étienne Seignovert vinifies in an essential manner with direct pressing and spontaneous fermentations, and ages a portion in amphora to enhance its purity. It is an unfiltered white with zero added sulfites. In the glass, it is taut, savory, and vibrant, with a nose dominated by citrus and salt. Its sharp acidity and great drinkability make it a must-have for lovers of dry, fresh, and high-energy white wines.
Etienne Seignovert
Etienne Seignovert, a winemaker in the Northern Rhône Valley about 20km west of Tain l’Hermitage, released his first vintage in 2020. After a tour of France to study first in Beaune and then in Montpellier, he decided to gain experience by working at various domaines before returning to the family property in Saint Barthélémy le Plain.
This area of the Doux Valley is particularly suited to viticulture, and he aims to create thoughtful wines that express freshness and delicacy. The goal is to establish a polyculture farm with an agroforestry structure, in full respect of biodiversity, with only one idea at the heart of the activity: the wine.
