Pure and vibrant Sangiovese Grosso. The characteristics of freshness and elegance typical of Montalcino’s northern slope are perfectly reflected in the 2024 vintage.

The grapes are sourced from a careful selection of the estate’s vineyards, with particular focus on historic plots such as Vigna del Piano and Vigna dei Cipressi. Here, at an altitude of approximately 300 meters on soils rich in clay and galestro, the vines benefit from a protected microclimate that allows for slow and aromatic ripening.

The tasting reveals an immediate and inviting complexity. Notes of crunchy red fruits, such as wild strawberry and marasca cherry, dominate the nose, enriched by delicate floral nuances and mineral hints. The finish offers light spicy and balsamic notes reminiscent of the Mediterranean scrub.

On the palate, the 2024 Rosso reveals its full energy. The entry is warm and elegant, supported by a lively freshness that makes for an extremely dynamic drinking experience. The tannins are dense yet velvety, well-integrated into a savory and mineral structure that leads to a long, clean, and enveloping finish.

Castello Tricerchi

A Historic Stronghold on the Northern Slope

Castello Tricerchi, a majestic fortress completed in 1441 by the Tricerchi family, overlooks the northern slope of Montalcino and stands today as a benchmark for those seeking elegance and freshness.

Under the leadership of Tommaso Squarcia, the estate has embarked on a journey to enhance its 13 hectares of Sangiovese vineyards, all farmed organically. The geographical location is crucial: situated at an altitude of approximately 300 meters, the vineyards benefit from cooler temperatures and clay-limestone soils. These conditions result in wines characterized by a natural acidic tension and a distinctive aromatic finesse, a departure from the warmer opulence found on the southern slopes.
